Is there anyone out there who does not feel a bit frantic on a Monday.
Years ago, I used to look forward to Mondays as it meant back to a normal routine. Which was rushing around without a minute to spare. I'd get my 2 older kids off to school and it would be just myself and my youngest child, at the time, who was a baby. The weekdays were filled with lugging the portable washer to hook up to the sink, and it would be there all day, doing load after load, and then took, the whole next day to dry in the little dryer, unless it was a nice sunny day, then it went out to the clothesline. If I wasn't washing, I was cleaning the house. Breaks were walks to the post office, and if we had time, stop to visit my mother, or go to the coffee shop where my friend worked. The little town where I lived then, still has a grocery delivery service.
Now I lug my clothes down the elevator to a laundry room, much easier, and less time consuming. I shop at the grocery store next door, almost daily, and I do not travel far if I am in a chatting mood, as I live in a high-rise and there is always someone around, weather I feel like talking or not. My 2 older kids have since moved out, and my "baby", is now an almost 16 yr old, and I have another child as well, who is 8.
In alot of ways life has changed in the last 10 years or so........but I guess some things will always stay the same.
Except, I no longer look forward to Manic Mondays.
