Went shopping.....
and I bought myself, after searching forever......skinny jeans.
Yes that's right.....you heard right.
I have always been "skinny". No matter what I do to gain weight, it just doesn't happen.
No I do not have a disease, but if I did, it would be called the "gain no weight since 12 yrs old, disease".
Over the years I have had people, mostly those who have a weight gain problem, tell me, how to gain. lol Sorry, it doesn't work for me.
People don't like that. Especially other women. I cannot help it! I have skinny jeans, oops, genes.
I would love to gain a few pounds. Just a few, hear me? lol
I have been 130 pounds for 20 years, I was about 115 at age 12. I only got hips when I had my first child at age 19 yrs old.
I notice so many young women now-a-days are fat. Hmmmm maybe they need to do more sports and walking????
I walk aLOT, always have. I loved sports when I was a kid and teenager. It was what I was good at. Sadly once you get older, you aren't as active. I'm not as energetic as I would like to be.
Well enough I guess I my going on......
I guess I will go get some cookies and ice-cream..

I think winter is here......
Most of you will agree with me, when I say this has been one weird year for weather.
I think it's been a good year for us, for weather none-the-less.
We had the longest summer with great temps, you couldn't ask for more, we us here in Ontario Canada couldn't lol
We had the longest fall weather ever as well.
And here we are now, with under a week to go, until Winter Solistice, and the snow has came. Just a bit, and I am happy with that. I think the older we get, the less we like cold and snow, well the normal people anyway, lol
But we do live in Canada and well, if we aren't used to it now we never will be.
So for today, this bright, sunny, wintry, COLD morning, I think I will close with that, clean my house and go shopping.

Very excited!
I've finally decided to do it!
Go to collage. I have made an appointment to get set up.
I have always wanted to take massage therapy. It's a 2 yr course, but first I need to take some prerequisites before I actually can take the course.
I'm very happy to finally be doing something for me.

Busy busy week....
Last Thursday, my daughter told me she was having back pain, and wondered if it could be labor. Seeing how she had never so much as mentioned any pain with this pregnancy, I told her it probably wasn't labor just normal pregnancy aches. And besides, she wasn't even due yet for a few weeks. Well that night, she said she felt better, so I said for her to text me through the night, if she needed me. I left my cell phone turned up, just in case, though I doubted it wasn't neccessary.
Sure enough at 6:30 am, I am woken up to my cell phone, singing a tune, and a message for me to "ANSWER YOUR PHONE, I GOTTA GO TO THE HOSPITAL". She had been trying to get a-hold of me for over an hour!
So I jump up and fly to the kitchen, to wait for the phone to ring.
Finally it rings after a long 5 second wait, and I ask her if she is sure it is labor. Yes she says, I think my water broke.
My mind was racing, and I am mentally trying to think what I need to do, while trying to find the number for the taxi, that will rush me over there.
I wake my son up and tell him whats going on, and to sleep on the coach, to watch his 8 yr old sister when she gets up, while I get over there.
While I get ready I put the kettle on for my coffee, grab my purse, and coffee , and I am outta here!
My brain is still sleeping, and in a daze the whole time, while trying to remember what she should take to the hospital, and intermittedly running outside to watch for an ambulance.
She off she goes, I get my Grandson up, and dressed, grab what he needs, and get back home. I phone my ex to come over to watch the kids, get a ride to the hospital, rush up to the birthing unit, and a nurse tells me she had the baby, by c section an hour before!
I got to see the baby in the NICU. I had never seen a baby in person, that small before. My babys were all around 8 pounds, and this one was under 6.
Other then a bit of a difficulty feeding the baby is healthy. Still in the hospital, but she has started to gain weight now.
My Grandson has been here staying with me since, and I must say, although tiring at times, it's been fun.

Pics from Canada Day Weekend!
After a week of on and off (mostly on) rain, I was looking forward to July 1st(Canada Day), the weather promised to be great. Every year our city , blocks off a few streets downtown, for the event all weekend. The merchants drag their wares out to the streets, and the vendors set up. It's very pretty as our downtown is also basically on the waterfront.
And then the fireworks!

A tiring week......
nI have been out of the loop for awhile, with lots going on, so haven't had time to post lately.
I hope you're all well, and I will be back in a day or two.

Friday is here
After a long week, I'm very happy to see Friday, finally here.
I'm even happier to see that summer has returned to us again, after a few days of cooler weather. It was a shock to have to turn the heat back on a few days after I got the AC in the window. I say bring me the heat, as long as my apartment is cool. We had such a long winter, and I promised myself I would not complain about the +30 temps we get here. Instead, I will make the most of what I have and be grateful for that.
Have a great day everyone!

Mondays Blast from the Past
This is a picture of my oldest son Chad (24), and my nephew Joey (23).
They are 9 months apart in age.
Manic Monday
Is there anyone out there who does not feel a bit frantic on a Monday.
Years ago, I used to look forward to Mondays as it meant back to a normal routine. Which was rushing around without a minute to spare. I'd get my 2 older kids off to school and it would be just myself and my youngest child, at the time, who was a baby. The weekdays were filled with lugging the portable washer to hook up to the sink, and it would be there all day, doing load after load, and then took, the whole next day to dry in the little dryer, unless it was a nice sunny day, then it went out to the clothesline. If I wasn't washing, I was cleaning the house. Breaks were walks to the post office, and if we had time, stop to visit my mother, or go to the coffee shop where my friend worked. The little town where I lived then, still has a grocery delivery service.
Now I lug my clothes down the elevator to a laundry room, much easier, and less time consuming. I shop at the grocery store next door, almost daily, and I do not travel far if I am in a chatting mood, as I live in a high-rise and there is always someone around, weather I feel like talking or not. My 2 older kids have since moved out, and my "baby", is now an almost 16 yr old, and I have another child as well, who is 8.
In alot of ways life has changed in the last 10 years or so........but I guess some things will always stay the same.
Except, I no longer look forward to Manic Mondays.

My Iced Coffee, quick and easy...
Great way to start your day on a hot summer day, instead of hot coffee.
Ingredients:
Pour into glass with ice cubes if you like. I like to add some vanilla coffee mate to mine.
For a bit of a change, you can fill a glass half-way with cold milk, then fill with coffee mixture.
Warning; this is addictive. Don't do what I did, and go nuts, you'll regret it at the end of the day when you can't sleep. lol.
Ingredients:
- 8 teaspoons instant coffee granules
- 8 teaspoons sugar, (or enough to your own liking)
- 8 cups boiled, cooled water
- 1 cup of milk, (or enough to your own liking)
Directions:
- Add instant coffee, sugar, and milk, to the cooled, boiled water. (I use a jug with a airtight lid).
- Place lid and shake until mixed and foamy.
- Place in freezer, and take it out and shake it, every hour or so, until it is cold, and icy.
